Today was a scenery hangover day. The riding for the day was going to be down hill for the majority of the day. After teh first ten miles I wanted to quit riding for the day because the scenery was not as great and it was hard to motivate myself to push on through the boring parts. We made it back into the mountains and rode by a beautiful lake and river. It made the time fly by, but all good things have an end. We were back into the high deseart and it almost reminded me of Kansas. THe time moved by slowly and the heat started to affect me too. It was the first time in the last few weeks that the heat had been a factor because we were so high up. It was a long day and it felt like it was going to never end.
I pushed through and we made it to the wonderful town of Ennis. It was a small cowboy town and the first stop of the day was Willies Distillery. I sampled some of the whiskeys and relaxed for a hour. We met Willie himself and he said we could camp behind the distillery in the yard if we wanted too. We all jumpped at the opprotunity to sleep on some lushous grass and the best part was the price, FREE. Everybody was awesome and it was amazing that they let us camp out for free. I set up all my stuff and went to the local diner for some food. I stuffed my face full of food and wondered the quiet little town. On my walk back to camp, I saw a buck that ran away. It was one of the bigger deer I have seen the entire trip and I think it was the first buck I have seen.
Well, I am going to call it an early night because we have a big day tomorrow to Dillon.
