Good morning everybody. Sorry I have fallen behind on the posts. It has been hard to find internet and I have been exhuasted at the end of the day. Today we went from Waterloo, IL to St. Charles, MO which took us through the heart of the city. I have never been to St. Louis and it was amazing to see the arch when crossing the MIssissippi. It was a easy day of riding because we wanted to see the city. We planned on staying in the city somewhere with a warm showers host. We stopped at a bike shop and got some supplies, then found a park to hang out while trying to find a host for the night. After an hour of calling people we could not find anybody to take us in for the evening. We decided to make our way to St. Charles, where the Katy Trail starts.
As we got to the west side of St. Louis we notice the area becoming rough and decided it was a good idea to take a train to the airport which was closer to St. Charles. We did not know the area well and we did not want anything to happen to our bikes. After one person getting lost on the train system and about an hour and a half we all meet at the airport. It was getting late and We had another 20 miles to go. We got onto the Katy trail to get to St. Charles and we had our first flat tire. Sean had a staple in his front tire and we had to change it really quick. We mmade it into town and found a hotel with some food near by. Not a bad day.
