Today I realized that I would not be anywhere with out Jessica baxk home. She has been a motivater and the person that keeps on pushing me to go forward. Not to mention all the stuff she has been doing with the blog. I can only write the posts from my note pad, but she has been creating all the maps and keeping track of the milage for me. This would be a pretty shitty blog site without her help. I really miss her and I cant wait to be home.
Today I entered into Wyoming and It was a pretty amazing experience. It is hard to wrap your mind around the fact that I have riden my bike more then halfway across the country. The finish line seems so close yet so far away. Wyoming has some mountains, but you can tell they are getting smaller. It is like a high dessert here and it is extremely dry.
I was riding with the group today and we were trying to make it to Saratoga because they had some hot springs. The scenery was pretty, but nothing really amazing today. We rolled into town and found the only campground at Saratoga Lake. After steeing up the other guys went down to the dock for a swim because it was hot out today. The water was cool and refreshing. We all decided to go into town to check out the hot springs which everybody has been telling us to stop at. When we go there they had two springs. One was extemely hot and the other was like a hot tub. They smelled bad and there were dirty, so I only stayed in them for a little while before going to the river and hanging out.
After getting back to camp I tried to make some mac and cheese, but it was so windy I could nto et my water to boil. The mac and cheese was a little bit hard, but it was food. The sun was going down and mosquitos were coming out. I got into my tent right away and an hour later there were hundereds of them on outside of my tent. I have never seen that many before in my life. Hopefully it was just the lake and it would not be this bad the next couple of nights. Overall, it was a good day and I did aout 75 miles.
