Hey everybody!
After some big riding days I have decided to take a rolling rest day. I rode, but I am not going to push myself to the 100 mile mark again today. It was the perfect day for a short day because the wind was in my face all day. I made it only 10 miles before I started thinking about turning around and heading back to the town I came from. I would set visual goals that to keep my mind off the wind. I dont think the wind would be bad if there was something to look at, but it is flat and boring. I have been running into alot of people going east and I try to talk to the majority of them. It is good to pick their brains about where to stay and what towns to stay away from.
I have been crossing paths with a group of 25 high school students that are going west. It is like a rolling army on the road, but I dont think I would like to travel in a group that big because it is hard for cars to pass. I found a guy in Ness City at the ice cream shop and he was the most interesting person so far. He was going a warm up tour across the country. He is warming up for a tour that will take a year and a half from Alaska to the southern tip of South America. I could not believe that he was doing that, but more power to you if that is your dream. The days have been going pretty good and I am almost half way. Hopefully the winds are better tomorrow.
