Today I left the Twin Mansions B&B after having breakfast. It was an awesome stay and it really hard to leave the comfortable bed behind. It reminds me of home and all the wonderful things that I am missing. I hit the road and made my way out of town. I was going to try and make it to Toronto today because they have a big state park with alot of camping. It is amazing how hilly the roads have been and it is taking alot longer to travel then I expected. The best news of the week is that the temperatures are going to be in the 70's for the next three days. All the people are excited because it is usually over 100 degrees at this time of year.
Today the tempertures are in the high 70's with a cross wind which does not help me, but it does not hurt me. It was a boring ride for most of the day until I got to the state park. There is a lake and rolling hills and rock formations. I was getting excited and as I pulled into the campground I meet two other cyclist going east who were a part of the Trans America Race. They were in last place, but they seemed to be having fun. We talked for a little bit and then I decided to go to town for some food and water. It was a run down town that has been affected by the bad economy over the last few years. Everything was out of business and I rode 4 more mile to the gas station up the road. I arrived and the gas station closed at 6 pm. Frustrated, I got a few drinks out of a vending machine and rode back to camp. It ended up being a ramen noodles type of night. As I get into ruarl Kansas alot of the services close early. This is a good lesson to learn now rather than later. Overall, I went 108 miles today which was not a bad day.
