Hey Everybody!
I am still alive and I am doing great. I got on the road early today to beat the heat and I did not know where I was going to end up. I have to stop in Boone because my maps are waiting for me. The only problem was they close at 4:30. The morning went well and I made great time. This is when I realized that I may be able to make it to Boone before the post office closes. It was a race agains time all day long. I knew where I needed to be and what time I need to be there by. I pushed myself hard today because it would be amazing to make it to Pueblo ahead of schedule. I rolled into Boone at around 4:15 with a few minutes to spare. I got my maps and went to the general store. I think I was dehydrated because I was not feeling the best. I had a bunch of water and decided to push on to Pueblo.
On the ride into Pueblo I saw my first live rattle snake on the road and I guess they are pretty common in this area. As I got closer to Pueblo, I became more excited about being in a cool big town. As I rolled into town I was shocked how rundown and dirty everything was. I found an Olive Garden and sat down for dinner because I was starving. I started talking to the bartender about what I was doing and she was amazed. Eventually, the manager came over and started talking to me. At the end of our conversation he said he was going to take care of my meal for me. He said it was the least he could do for somebody doing something so amazing. Again this has opened my eyes to how great people can be in this world.
