Today I was going to take a break day, but I felt like I needed to keep moving. After I got on the road my legs got warmed up and I ended up pushing myself to about 50 miles for the day.
It was an easier day with a few moderate climbs, but nothing to crazy. In the small town of Draper, I meet a great bike shop owner named Thomas. He checked over my bike and lubed my chain for free and would not accept any money from me. We ended up talking for about an hour and he had completed the Transam tour in 2012 which is the reason he ended up in Draper. He wanted to start his own shop and said this was the perfect place. The only other place in town was a cafe, whihc had amazing food and great people. This was the best town that I had stopped in thus far. I continued on and got to see 4 of the Transam racers who are racing from west to east on the same route self supported. I had heard the winner made it accross the country in 15 days and was riding 250 miles a day. It is absolutly amazing.
Eventually, I made it into a highway rest stop town call Fort Chriswell. I found a place to eat and a cheap motel for the night because there was no camping in the area. I was going to try and get an early start the next day and make it over the first of two major peaks of a mountain. Good night everyone.
