After a great night rest at the hostel last night, I woke up pretty late and got on the road by 10 am. It was nice to sleep in and start a little bit later for once. THe weather was great and the sun was shining for the entire morning. I had about 40 miles of a slight downhill and it was on a bike path for the first 15 miles. Breckenridge is an awesome town and it is hard to leave it behind, but the trip must go on. I was not riding with the group today because they decided to camp and I wanted to stay at the hostel. There were alot of bikers all morning and I talked to a fe of them. They said that Breckenridge is one of the biggest biking communities in the state.
The scenery has been amazing and the winding rivers and streams throughthe mountains make it easy to zone out while riding. Eventually, I made it down to the lake and started riding around when I came upon the group of guys I had riden with the day before. They were hanging our with some locals who were cliff diving into the lake. It was pretty cool and exciting to watch. After about a half hour we all continued on our path together. It was nice to hook back up with this group. They are pretty cool and laid back.
After getting to Kremmling we looked at the weather because it looked like it was going to storm. I was going to push on, but then I saw some lighting in the distance and decided that it is a good idea that I dont continue on. I stayed at the hostel in town and as soon as I got all my stuff inside it started to rain hard and hail. It was pretty amazing that the weather could change that quickly. It was nice to have a roof over my head for the night. After the strom I did some laundry and had some dinner at a local place. The food was pretty good and it was nice to relax for a little while.
Overall it was not my longest day, but it was a productive day. I think I went about 60 miles, but the rains would have killed me so it is good that I stopped early.
