So my day started a little later and we did not get out of the hotel until 10am. Jessica drove me down to the area that I had stopped the day before and we took some pictures in the quiet little town. It was at this moment that I realized I would have no more help and nobody to talk too. She really played an important role in the sucess of the beginning of this trip. It was hard to say goodbye and it kicked in that I am going to have a hard two months.
The day started off well and I was making good time, but the roads were getting tougher. the climbs were becoming more frequent and steaper. My legs started to get tired at the end of the day, but the bigger issue was my knee. Eventually, I made it up the last climb of the day into town and sat in the park. I made some phone calls and then made my way over to the fire department. I asked one of the firemen if I could camp out back in the field. I started setting up my tent and instantly had a couple visitors who made their way over to talk with me. I eventually made my way over to the town square where they had a couple places to eat. I grabbed a burrito and retired for the evening.
